The bags

Because every bag is cut from salvaged material, no two are exactly alike. For now, the bags are sold only at markets and on Verra. More body bags are on the way: sling bags and messenger bags.

About

Siren in Suspenders Sewn Goods opened in September 2025 with hip bags. Since then I’ve added totes and crossbody bags, and sling and messenger bags are in the works. Every design is my own.

I’ve been sewing for over 30 years, and my machines are salvaged too, saved from the dumpster.

Every bag starts on fabric intake day. Scraps arrive from local manufacturers, and sometimes from people like a retired upholsterer who couldn’t fathom trashing such treasures. This year I also began taking in retired tents and outdoor gear, old sails, reclaimed canvas, and a small amount of leather to repurpose into bags.

Each piece is designed and sewn with durability, utility, and place in mind, made to withstand mountain weather, heavy loads, and everyday use. No two are the same, and that’s intentional.

These are working bags, meant to be used hard, repaired often, and carried for years, not seasons. That’s why I also repair, alter, and custom-sew for other people, from zippers and hems to shade cloths, cushions, camper van customization, and pop-up camper canvas replacement.
